We knew about
Hotel Kipling via the
tripadvisor.com. Mark took the words of the great reviews and recommendations of travelers who had stayed there and we were not sorry for our decision. Aside from it's perfectly situated close to the interesting areas in Geneva (such as the Old Town and Geneva Lake), it's also well known for good customer service and great value for money. We have a booking, but when we stepped in, the receptionist immediately proposed to us to transfer to another hotel managed by them due to overbooked rooms. It's 4 star hotel called
Hotel Royal. I didn't understand exactly the reason why Kipling can't accommodate us and still gave us an option to whether stay or move. Hotel Royal, on the other, hand have better amenities and apparently more expensive than we booked for, but he offered it for the same price - so who are we to say no? To top it up, he also gave us complimentary breakfast for the next day, probably because of the hassle to walk again to the other hotel - for just about 100 meters away from them ;).
We didn't get to experience Hotel Kipling itself, but we did experience the great customer service!
Personalized greetings on the TV at Hotel Royal. Classy.
Our breakfast table.
Enjoying our breakfast. This was so far the best breakfast we've ever had in the entire trip.
