Things You Didn't Know Existed

I was walking around True Value this afternoon to get stuff for my small herb garden, when I came across this:

A tool just made for peeling apples.

Immediately, it got me thinking - do these things sell? I never thought anyone would ever need a peeler for apples. This just doesn't feel right, eh? I never thought it's too bothersome to just grab the apple and skin the shit out of it with a knife. I have no idea to what demographic this tool is designed for, but it's just so freakin' lazy!

But just when I thought it's the most ridiculous thing sold in this store, I found this:

A bacon hanger?

I stopped for a moment and tried to reason out why this existed in the first place. Maybe it's handy. Maybe it has purpose in the culinary world. Maybe it's a chef's thing. I seriously can't find a reason why I would want a hanger for my bacon. Normal people just blots it with paper towel.

Man, what's up with these stupid useless inventions?
